Project Overview
As the Velacur product portfolio expanded, Sonic Incytes required an updated logo system that strengthened the brand while maintaining recognition within the medical imaging and clinical research communities. The project included refining the existing Velacur identity and developing a cohesive family of logos for Velacur ONE, Velacur ONE+, and Velacur Classic, creating a consistent visual system across the product line.
Challenge
Sonic Incytes felt the original Velacur logo shared too many visual similarities with the Barefoot logo and wanted to establish a more distinctive identity without losing existing brand recognition. The redesign needed to preserve the familiar liver icon while improving its definition, updating the typography, and creating a flexible logo system that could support multiple product variations.
Solution
I refreshed the existing identity by adding an outline to the liver icon, increasing and repositioning the internal dots to create better balance and visual interest, and updating the typography for improved readability and consistency. Building on the revised identity, I designed a standardized family of logos for Velacur ONE, Velacur ONE+, and Velacur Classic, ensuring each product maintained a clear connection to the parent brand while remaining easily distinguishable.
Results
The refreshed logo system provides Sonic Incytes with a more distinctive and cohesive product identity while preserving the familiarity of the original Velacur brand. The standardized logo family ensures consistent branding across digital marketing, product documentation, presentations, trade show materials, and future product launches.
