Project Overview
Galensina Pharma Services required a complete visual identity for its launch as a new pharmaceutical consulting company. Working from a written creative brief and a collection of visual references, I designed an original logo that established the company’s brand and became the foundation for its website, marketing materials, and overall visual identity.
Challenge
The client wanted a logo inspired by the names Galen and Ibn Sina, two influential physicians whose work shaped the history of medicine. The design also needed to incorporate elements of the Healing Simurgh, a mythical bird associated with healing and wisdom, while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic suitable for the pharmaceutical industry. Adding to the challenge, the logo, website landing page, and tri-fold brochure all needed to be designed, approved, and ready within one month to support the company’s debut at its first industry conference.
Solution
After exploring multiple concepts through research and sketching, I developed an abstract symbol that combines three distinct ideas into a single cohesive mark. The overall form references the Healing Simurgh through stylized wings, the flowing center suggests a DNA double helix, and the composition subtly evokes the caduceus, reinforcing the company’s connection to medicine and science. A blue color palette conveys trust, professionalism, and scientific credibility, while a red accent provides visual balance and emphasis.
Results
The final identity established a memorable visual foundation for Galensina Pharma Services, successfully translating the company’s history, values, and vision into a modern brand that continues to support its website, marketing materials, and corporate communications. The complete branding initiative, including the logo, website landing page, and tri-fold brochure, was delivered on schedule for the company’s first industry conference. Beyond its intended symbolism, the owner noted that the final mark also resembled the First Sergeant insignia from his Army service, creating an unexpected personal connection that made the identity even more meaningful.
